Today on the program Bible teacher Mark Martin continues his study through 1 Corinthians with the conclusion of a message from last time about passing judgment on others. What does the Bible tell us about judgment? Is it ever okay to pass judgment on another? And who has the final word when it comes to reaching the ultimate conclusion?

Have you ever jumped to a conclusion before gathering enough information to make an educated decision? If so, how did that work out for you? Today on the program Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with a new message about passing judgment on others. It's no surprise that we as humans have a tendency to form an opinion before we gather all of the facts. But the Bible tells us that when that urge to pass judgment on others surfaces, we are to look before we leap so to speak, because we may be jumping into a whole lot of trouble.

Today on the program, Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with the conclusion of a message from last time about being a servant of Christ. In this teaching, we'll compare the life a Christian servant to that of an oarsman on a ship. You may recall a film or two that portrays these people as slaves at the wrong end of the whip, but the Bible tells us that an under-rower is much more important than Hollywood portrays them.

What does it mean to be an under-rower? The first impression may bring to mind an image of someone who's not doing their full share, but as we'll see today, under-rowers are a crucial part in navigating the Christian life. Today on the program Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with part two of a message about serving in the body of Christ. Now the term under-rower refers to a servant who acts under direction and never asks questions. Although this function appears to be the most humble of positions, in the Christian community it is one of the most important.

Today on the program Pastor Mark continues his study through 1 Corinthians with a new message about unity in the church. When this letter was written to the church in Corinth, the resurrection of Jesus Christ had only occurred a mere 20 years before, and even though the events of the crucifixion were still relatively fresh in the minds of these new believers, the apostle Paul found it crucial to address some of the issues that had arisen in this short period. One of these issues was the preference of teachers among the believers. But as we'll see, it is not a case of who the teacher was, but more of what was being taught. And that's the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

Today on the program, Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with a new message about building your faith on a stable foundation. Today on the program, Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with the conclusion of a message from last time about solid Christian growth. In this teaching we'll learn about the importance of planting the seeds of faith in fertile soil. As we'll see, there are certain types of soil that promote quick growth, but over time, the process ceases and gives way to weeds that choke the healthy growth. So how do we insure healthy, consistent growth in our Christian walk? Well the Bible tells us that we should start with fertile soil, based on the Word of God.

Today on the program Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with a new message about Christian growth. In this study we'll take a look at the various jobs of a Christian servant. We see the apostle Paul taking on the role of the sower of God's word. We then see Paul's fellow servant Apollos as being the one who brought water to the message of Christ. But what about the soil? You can plant the seed, you can provide water for growth, but without proper soil, you are left with nothing. So who causes the seed to grow? Well the Bible tells us that without the foundation of Christ, growth is impossible.

Let's say for a moment that you have just finished listening to one of your favorite pieces of music. As the last note fades, do you find yourself applauding the music, or the instrument? It sounds like an odd question but imagine that the music in question is the Word of God and the instrument is the teacher who conveys it. When you it that way the choice is simple. We applaud the Word of God. Today on the program, Pastor Mark continues his study though 1 Corinthians with a new message about Paul's reliance upon the Holy Spirit. In this study we'll see the apostle addressing the people of Corinth in response to their preferences over teachers. Who is the best? Which teacher is the most popular among the congregation? These are all valid questions, but as we'll see today, it's not the teacher as much as what is being taught.

What does God look for in a servant? Is he looking for credentials? Perhaps it's a good work history or an impressive resume. Or maybe it's something completely different, like the desire to place Him first. Today on the program, Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with the conclusion of a message from last time concerning the type of person that God uses to carry out His will. As we'll learn today, God doesn't follow the same rules that we do in selecting the right person for the job, where we may look at things like experience and education in our selection process, God looks at things like availability, humility, and faithfulness.

Today on the program Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with a new message that gives us a picture of the type of person God uses to achieve His will. In this study, the apostle Paul continues his counsel to the church of Corinth by addressing some of the questions that had surfaced since his initial visit. Among these was the question of what type of person God uses to carry out His will. In the modern world, experience is key as is education. We can usually tell if a person is right for a job, simply by reviewing their resume. But where God is concerned, a resume isn't always the best indication of a person's ability to serve the Lord. As we'll see, God often uses the most unlikely individuals to do His work. And that includes all of us.

Don't you wish there was an easy way to do away with fear and loneliness in your life forever? Well, there is! And it's much easier than you think! Today on the program Pastor Mark continues his study through the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians with the conclusion of a message from last time that gives us some instruction on living a life free from the influence of fear, loneliness, and even death. The Bible tells us that when we place our trust in Jesus Christ for our salvation, we are no longer bound by the things that weigh us down in this world. Instead, we are given the promise of an eternity in the presence of the God of the universe. Of course that's not to say that we will live a life free of trials, but when you consider an eternal life free of loneliness and death, our short time of earthly trials doesn't seem so bad in comparison.

Today on the program, Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with a new message about being a real believer in Christ. What does it mean to be a real believer? The Bible tells us that we must put our faith in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins. We are to turn away from our sinful ways and accept the free gift of salvation from God's grace through Christ Jesus.

Today on the program Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of 1 Corinthians with the conclusion of a message from last time that gives us deeper insight into the cultural and political workings of this once great city. In this study we see the apostle Paul forging ahead through trials to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to a city that would be considered despicable even by today's standards. We'll also see the mighty transformation of a man who opposed Paul from the beginning and we'll learn that where God is concerned, no man is beyond salvation.

Series: Resurrection
Today Pastor Mark concludes our resurrection week study with the conclusion of a message about the most wonderful day in the history of mankind, the day that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. What proof do we have in favor of the resurrection? What information do we have that proves that the event actually took place? Well, the Bible tells us that there were over 500 eyewitness accounts of Jesus' appearance after his death. Could there be a twin, was it some trick involving slight of hand, or is Jesus simply the true and living God?

Today Pastor Mark will give us a closer look at the most joyful day in the history of mankind, the day that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Now, recently, there have been claims that the resurrection never occurred, yet no solid evidence has been presented to prove these theories. But what about the proof in favor of the resurrection? What information do we have that proves that the event actually took place? Well, how about the eye witness accounts of over 500 people? Is that convincing enough? Or shall we continue our search to dig up more dirt?

Series: Resurrection
Why would an innocent man offer himself up to be tortured and executed in the most grisly fashion imaginable? it seems like a silly question, but why indeed? There is no getting around it. This one solitary man fulfilled once and for all every sacrifice called for under the law and in doing so he ushered in a new and different relationship with our Father in heaven. Today on the broadcast pastor Mark continues our 5 day study of the resurrection of Jesus Christ with the conclusion of a message from yesterday. Now we know the account of the crucifixion. Jesus was pierced through his hands and through his feet and was hung from a cross until he willingly surrendered his life. But do you know why? Are you aware of the supernatural transaction that was taking place during that moment in history?

At first glance, it was one of the most horrific days in human history. An innocent man was pierced through his hands although he never used them for evil, pierced through his feet although he never walked where he shouldn't, and crowned with thorns although he never had an impure thought. So why then do we celebrate these dreadful days? Today Pastor Mark Martin begins a five day study leading up to the event that proved to be the most joyful day in the history of mankind: the day that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. Now, let's get our special resurrection week started as we join Pastor Mark in Revelation chapter 16 for today's study. A message entitled the cross and the wrath of God.

What do you do when you want to ensure that your point gets across? Let's imagine that you're instructing a child to clean their room. You repeat yourself, don't you? Today on the program, Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of Revelation with the conclusion of a message from last time concerning the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Throughout the New Testament, Jesus employs a useful technique when he's trying to make a point; He repeats Himself. Well, in today's study we'll see a shining example of this technique as he speaks of His return. Jesus says that He is coming quickly not once, but three times, in the final chapter of Revelation. So what does this mean? Could it be that He means business?

Today on the program Bible teacher Mark Martin continues his study through the book of Revelation with the second installment of a three part message concerning the return of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that Jesus is coming soon. But when will that day come? The short answer is, no one knows. In the final days, there will be many signs pointing to the return of Christ, but despite what we may be told through Hollywood movies, the actual time of Jesus' return is God's best kept secret. It could happen when we least expect it. The important thing to remember is that no matter when it happens, we must be ready. Which begs the question, are you ready?

Before we get started though, try to imagine a world where crime and injustice are dealt with swiftly and righteously. No lawyers, no long drawn out court cases, just immediate judgment fairly handed down. Sounds like an impossible dream, doesn't it? Well, it's not, because this is exactly the description that the Bible tells us about the one thousand year period during which Jesus Christ reigns over the earth.

The Bible tells us that the history of God's redemption began in the city of Jerusalem, but while the city of Babylon ends with destruction, the new city of Jerusalem will be built on the foundations whose builder and maker is the Lord God of all creation. In this study, we'll take a look at some of the beliefs that will form the one world religion spoken of in Revelation chapter 17. Throughout history, we've seen many beliefs rise up that claim to be the only way to God. But what is the true way? Can we combine all of these different beliefs and twist them all together to create our own faith? That seems to be a popular mode of thinking these days. But do all roads truly lead to God? Or are we simply creating a path that leads to destruction?

The Bible tells us that he preaches the Gospel message to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people. Up to this point, there have been groups of individuals who may not have heard the message of salvation due to the language barriers or other cultural reasons, but the Bible is very clear that the Lord has pulled out all of the stops, so there is no longer any hindrance of hearing the Gospel of truth. Do you enjoy hearing new music? If this is something that excites you, then today is your day! Today on the program, Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of Revelation with part two of a three part message concerning the 144,000 believers that are spoken of in Revelation chapter 14. The Bible tells us that these people are devout followers of Jesus, the Lamb, they are undefiled, and no lies will be found among them. The Bible also tells us that they will sing a new song before the throne of God, the likes of which no one has ever heard before. So if you love to hear new music, imagine how great that day will be!

Today on the program, Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of Revelation with the conclusion of a message from last time concerning one of the key players in end time prophecy, the false prophet. Who is this person? What is their role in earth's final days, and is it possible that this individual could already be walking among us today? Well, the Bible tells us that these things will most certainly come to pass. But with so many deceivers already taking the stage, how can we identify the real false prophet?

In this study we'll take a close look at what the Bible has to say about God's attitude toward lawlessness and sin. If you've been a Christian for any amount of time then you're probably well aware of the love that God has for all of His children. But what about His anger? The Bible is very clear that the Lord cannot stand in the presence of evil. So what should He do in the face of sin and lawlessness? Ignore it and hope it goes away? Or should He deal with it once and for all with righteous judgment?

Paul also commends them on their perseverance in the midst of persecution. This is a wonderful passage of Scripture that serves as a reminder to all of us that even though our lives may sometimes seem to spin out of control, God is ultimately in charge. In our study through Revelation, we have seen many different angels. There was an angel in Revelation 5; the four in chapter 7 that held back the winds of the earth, and of course the seven we just witnessed in chapter 8 that held the trumpet judgments. But today, we see an entirely different angel, one who is strong and mighty enough to carry a very special book and who bears a message from God to the entire world. Who is this angel? We find out today with Bible teacher Mark Martin as he opens to Revelation 11 for our new study, "The Angel and The Little Book".

How do you measure joy? Is it the look of a baby's face? Is it the sound of children laughing, or that feeling you get when your team wins the championship? Pastor Mark has been showing us the crowns that are promised to everyone who faithfully follows Jesus. In today's study we are shown the crown of rejoicing, and I think we will be surprised at the source of our joy.

How many times have you praised the Lord when you smash your finger? When faced with calamity we all tend to fight rather than worship, don't we? Pastor Mark says that even in the midst of our calamity, God is at work to make something solid and valuable! He calls it perseverance and today we find out more about the crown of life as Pastor Mark continues his week long study of the crowns mentioned in the Bible for those who faithfully serve God. We turn today to Revelation chapter 3 for part two of "Crowns Are Coming!"

Have you ever been to an awards ceremony where you know that you're a recipient? It's exciting isn't it! Well what if the presenter was Jesus Christ Himself? In today's study through the book of Revelation, we learn of the rewards that believers will receive in heaven following our lives on earth. The Bible refers to these rewards as crowns and we get them for doing different things in the Lord's service. But what about losing our rewards? Is that possible? If so, how does it happen? And how can we safeguard ourselves so it doesn't?

What are the marks of a faithful Christian? If you'd like to find out, then follow the example from the church of ancient Philadelphia. So far, we've seen what Jesus said to give of the seven churches of Asia and not all have had glowing reviews. But the church of Philadelphia was different. So what set them apart? Well, the Bible tells us that there are five things that cause them to stand out.

As we saw last time, the Lord does not mince words when he addresses this troubled group of people. He refers to the city of Pergamum as the dwelling place of Satan. He encourages them to hold fast to the truth, but he also warns them of His return and that they should turn away from the desire to buckle under the pressure of compromise. In other words, Jesus is telling them that He understands what they are enduring, but He tells them to stay strong and to fight the temptation to go along with the worldly flow.

Who is Jesus Christ? Is he simply a man who walked the earth over two thousand years ago with a message of hope? Or is he something much more complex? Pastor Mark continues his study through the book of Revelation with a new message that gives us some insight into the deity of Jesus Christ. We know that Jesus walked this earth as a teacher, a tireless servant, and a leader of men. But what was he before that? That's a pretty strange question to ask, don't you think? Well the Bible tells us that before the foundations of the earth were made, there was Jesus. He wasn't just present at the beginning, he is the beginning! And along with the Father and the Holy Spirit, he is eternal in both directions. From what we perceive to be the beginning, to what we perceive to be the end, Jesus Christ is the alpha and omega!

Pastor Mark Martin continues his study through the book of Revelation with the second installment of a three part message that explores the reasons behind biblical prophecy. In this study we'll take a look at the wonderful picture that the Apostle John gives us of the everlasting majesty of God. Keep in mind, however, that the book of Revelation also gives a firm description of God's judgment, but before we get to that point, we see a beautiful illustration of God's love and sovereignty and how we as Christians should follow the example of John by assuming the role of a servant.

Let's say that you're expecting company. What's the first thing you do? You tidy up, don't you? After all you wouldn't want your guests to find you with your house out of order. Or would you? Today on the Monday edition of Grace Upon Grace, Pastor Mark Martin continues his study through the book of Revelation with a new message about being prepared for the return of Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that we are saved through faith in Christ Jesus, so if we're safe, why would we worry about the state of our house? Well, let's go back to our guest illustration. Doesn't it send a better message to others when you take care of the things that you've been charged with? It does, doesn't it? So think about the message that you're sending to others when you're visibly living your life for Christ.

What is going to happen next? Seems like a strange question to ask out of the blue, but take a look around you for a moment. It seems that everywhere you turn, more and more people are asking that same question. What's next? Today Pastor Mark Martin begins an exciting verse by verse study through the book of Revelation. Throughout this series, we'll take a look at what the Bible has to say about the end times. Are these truly mankind's final days on the planet? What hope do we have for a future? Today on Grace Upon Grace, Pastor Mark Martin continues his study in the gospel of Mark with a message that answers the question that's been puzzling man since the beginning of history. What does the future hold? It seems that man has always had a preoccupation with seeing into the future. It is the darkest day in human history, the day that Jesus Christ was put to death on the cross for crimes that he didn't commit. But for whose crimes did he have to die for? In this teaching, we'll explore the events that surround the day that we've come to know as Good Friday. We'll see a man who never had a bad thought, yet he was crowned with thorns. He never stole or walked in a place where he shouldn't have been, but he was nailed through his hands and feet. And even though he is the only man in history to lead a perfect life, it was his shoulders that bore the weight of our sin. So who did Jesus die for? All of us.

Imagine that you've been called for jury duty. On trial are two men with different charges against them. Now imagine that it's your job to choose one of them to be set free. One of the prisoners is a known murderer, the other, a Rabbi with no record of misconduct. In fact, it's not really clear why he's on trial in the first place. Now, who would you choose to set free? The peacemaker or the murderer? In this lesson we'll hear the account of the events that lead up to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
