Jesus will address an issue that was a hot topic then and today. It is the issue of Marriage. At the end of chapter 18 we talked about oaths and vows. V 3-12 this is a test question the Pharisees; it is a leading question. It is a question of entrapment. They are trying to trap Jesus in His words on the issue of marriage and divorce. V 13 – 14 we see Jesus with children. It is possible they are from broken homes and have single parent. They really suffer in divorce. V 16-23 Earthly riches and pursuits can ruin relationships and, especially our relationship with God. V24 – 30 what is in it for me?
