Are you tight-fisted with your stuff? Are you not sharing the things that God has provided to you? Coveting starts in the mind and affects all areas of our lives. This last commandment is at the core of all the commandments, just as having physical core strength affects all other areas of your body. Coveting prevents us from being grateful and content with what we have.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 tells us to work or we shall not eat. Donna tells us to model work for your children and teach them the value of working. Ephesians 4:28 and 1 John 3:17 remind us to not steal and to work and share what we have. Stealing can also mean not paying back credit card debt or loans, or filing bankruptcy.

Thou shalt not commit adultery. Marriage needs protection and attention! Donna teaches us that in Matthew 5:27-30, if you lust for someone other than your spouse, you are committing adultery in your heart. Talk to your children about sex and train them to be disciplined with their bodies. Donna also refers to Prov 6:32, Mark 7:20-23, and Heb 13:4.

Dear Friends of the Ministry,

As we enter the middle of our 40 day adventure, my dollar jar is filling up…The question, "do I really need this?" is still strong in my mind on a daily basis and I am thankful for that. I shared with you last week that I struggle with buying the little things that add up to big dollar amounts. A dollar spent at Wal-Mart is the same dollar spent at a department store at your local shopping mall.

This past week I received a 30% off coupon at one of my favorite on-line clothing stores and it was only good for that one day. I found myself justifying why I should use it.

· I would save 30% on the shirt I wanted.

· I would most likely buy it anyway so I might as well buy it now and save the 30%.

· Wouldn't Randy (my man) be thrilled I saved 30% on the shirt rather than paying full price?

When you read the "justifications" I listed above, what is the one common word used? In them all I used the word, "I." Me, myself and I. Sacrifice is not about me…it's about giving up, denying, forfeiting, enduring the loss of something and for me it's the cute shirt I don't need! The money I would have saved, the 30%, is now in my HBC Broadcast Jar.

This $40 in 40 days of sacrifice is such a beautiful reminder to give back to a ministry that blessed and has changed my life.

Please consider joining me on this wonderful journey of sacrifice! It is never too late for you to begin! Start today!

Continuing to sacrifice,
