In our continued study of Jeremiah 29:10-14, we take a look at God's plans "to prosper and not to harm us." Why did God use these words to the Israelites? As we take time to consider this question, we are able to discover some significant aspects concerning the character of God.
Finding God's plan and will for our lives can often be a tedious and frustrating process.
So what do I do? Do I buy or sell? Do I go or stay? Do I start or quit?
While most know and embrace the idea that God has a plan for our lives, discovering it can be quite difficult. Jeremiah gives us a great example of living inside of God's plan for our lives.
The Bible is the ultimate love story. It's the story of a man and woman running from God. It's the story of God who is on a mission to recapture their hearts and He goes to extreme means to accomplish it. No matter who you are or what you've done, God's relentless pursuit is toward you. The burning question is how you will respond to it.
Sometimes it's so difficult to translate feelings and emotions into words.
We often say, "Words can't express how I feel." Occasionally we borrow others' words to express our feelings. Often a touch, a picture or a gift will capture our feelings. God often communicates His promises, hopes and dreams for us through words. It's those words that allow us the opportunity to see His heart ... His heart for us.
Jesus was the master of turning impossible situations into incredible miracles. Whether it was His first miracle of the impossible situation of running out of wine at a wedding feast or the impossible situation of not having money to pay taxes, Jesus specialized in creating the incredible out of the impossible. And what Jesus did in the past, He can do again today.
Few words can adequately describe Jesus. While some chose to leave Him in a manger, the reality is He is the ultimate. None compares to Him. His exploits are far beyond human comprehension and when His power touches a life the transformation is complete, radical and beyond amazing. It’s far more than theory but a living reality for those that have been touched by Him.
It divided the centuries. In a single moment of time - the birth of Jesus - the marking of time is divided. It divided the battle for hope - before His birth a season of gloom and doom, yet after His birth "no more gloom." His coming and His work in our lives brings incredible joy amidst difficult and overwhelming circumstances. It's through His work in our lives that we can say, "NEVERTHELESS!"
The birth of Jesus, His life, death and resurrection was the most important event of the ages. No event has had greater impact; no moment of time has been more crucial than the birth of Jesus - at that moment everything changed and that event still can transform us today. It's all about a "nevertheless' perspective to the realities of life.

The first Christians lived with the smile of God on their lives. While the persecution was difficult, the challenges intense, God's presence and blessing rested on them. Yet that wasn't the case for everyone in the early church. While some experienced His smiles, others experienced His wrath. So what made the difference? What are the keys to living with God's smile?
Have you ever had that moment in your life where you learn something that resonates deep inside you? It's that story, statistic, experience or reality that brings you to a point where you say, "I have to do something." Today, we take some time to hear how this has happened in Student Ministries. More importantly, we take time to ask, "What does this mean to each and every one of us?"

Nappanee Missionary Church, Nappanee, Indiana, is a community of believers focused on our mission of "making fully committed disciples!" We believe that God's "fingerprints" are all over this work. As we have been blessed with 26 consecutive years of growth under Senior Pastor Dave Engbrecht's leadership, we are careful to say it's not because of our giftedness but rather because of God's faithfulness. NMC is a vibrant local church, still growing beyond its current average weekly worship attendance of over 2,800, in a city of 6,600 residents. With three Sunday morning worship services in the main worship center, and one (soon expanding to two) in-house video venue(s) called The Connection, as one national leader said, "NMC is the miracle in the corn field." Yes, if God can do it here He can do it anywhere!

Through the years God has enabled us to equip and send many men and women into full time vocational Christian ministry. In addition, nearly ten percent of the NMC congregation participates in a short-term international missions experience each year. Domestic outreaches range from student ministries involved in evangelistic missions in major urban areas, to a satellite congregation, CityChurch, which ministers to a large mobile home community and the rental housing market in our own city. A new video venue in Topeka, Indiana, a town of 1,200 located some 35 miles from the home campus, presently averages nearly 200 in weekly worship attendance. With a God-inspired, expanding vision for ministry on local, regional, national and global levels, NMC also enjoys important strategic partnerships with several missions entities as well as with a number of other local churches.

At NMC we enthusiastically believe that "our greatest days are just ahead!"
