Once again, it appears that a group of black-robed judges -- not the people and not the legislature -- will have the final say in whether voters will have a chance to determine the fate of a state constitutional amendment protecting traditional marriage. That, despite almost half-a-million signatures on a petition to put the measure on the November ballot.

How else can you explain their refusal to certify petitions to place a proposed marriage amendment on the November ballot? | Southern Baptists Still Pondering Public School Exodus |

Despite the media attention garnered from a resolution urging Southern Baptists to "remove their children from the government schools," messengers to the 2004 Annual Meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention failed to back the controversial initiative. However, the convention's lack of support did not blind Evangelicals to concerns brought to the forefront by this proposed resolution. |
