    "Vanity Fair" Offers Good Glimpse into 19th Century Society

    Reese Witherspoon holds her own as an ambitious, but likeable, gal who is simply trying to 'do better for herself' in a 19th century world of haves, have nots and wannabes. And even though I would've liked to have seen her in a role more faithful to William Makepeace Thackeray's in his 1847 novel, this one will certainly do.
